Jennifer Savage Hurley - Carnevale of Creatures

Jennifer Savage Hurley

I was always in choir, but truly began performing when I was 19. My first whisper of musical creativity was at age 10 when I wrote my very first song sitting in the back of the school bus.

I was leader of the band named Blaming Grace for about a decade. I paused my musical career to create a foodie empire named Arlington Foodies, it promotes and supports local restaurants and businesses. This helped us create 2 local farmers markets and a bi-weekly produce co-op.

I also took some time to develop a 1st season of a TV series named Shoe Chronicles. Those were copyrighted in 2021.

My day job since I graduated Cum Laude with a comm tech degree at UTArlington in 2007 is my web and graphic design company Oak Street Marketing. Now that motherhood has freed up a little of my time, I have found my passion ignite again for music.

I have been performing on occassion at a bar named Binions Ice House, almost in my backyard...and most recently sparked up a new podcast named "Live at Binions, Wednesday Night!" with hosts Daniel Katsuk and Charles Gaby.

The podcast is still in beta mode, but...you can come watch their concert every Wednesday from 8-11pm. We record the podcast from 8:30-9:30pm and air live at 10pm. The vision is to establish the Arlington Music Network, a place where musicians can brainstorm, become inspired and find undiscovered talent.

Carnevale Mission

The Carnevale of Creatures was a live venetian, steam punk, masquerade variety charity event . It was hosted in February of 2011 and was a 4 hour event held at Sons of Hermann Hall in Deep Ellum, Texas. It hosted 50 performers for the evening.
Our mission was to bring awareness to a nonprofit charity named Love146.org. The charity works world wide to abolish child sex slavery through prevention and aftercare. The story follows as a journalist touring Thailand came upon a brothel where young girls were pinned a number on their shirt, dosed with heroin and sat in front of cartoons; and stared at through a glass window. Men would pick and choose these young girls as though they were on a menu and do whatever they wanted to them.
The children were being taken from small, poor villages where scouts would "claim" they were taking the children to work in a factory.
The name Love 146 comes from one girl who looked in to the eyes of the journalist who was determined to find and save her.
He finally did, he rehabilitated her and began building round safe houses so they girls would never be boxed in again. Once 146 was rehabilitated, she became a teacher for more young girls who would be purchased from the brothels, rehabilitated and protected in these safe houses.
Every time Spotify pays me for this album, a portion of the proceeds goes to Love146.org.
